I really hated this while I was working on it. I had no idea how I would approach the layers of wrinkled paper, and getting the color of the pear right was a struggle as well because it almost always turned out too gray. Funny how after staring at the finished painting for a few hours it has become one of my most favorite. I like the contrast of the texture and thick paint of the paper against the smoothness of the pear.

This pear was a lot harder to paint than I thought. Maybe I should think of a name for this series of fruits where I place them against a cream backdrop like I did here.
