This is my first time to paint strawberries. They are quite expensive and not very common in our area. These little strawberries were perfect models and they smelled so sweet!

This painting is on gessoed 1/8″ hardboard. It’s my first time to try this support, but I will be using it for most of the future daily paintings.

The leftover green paint that I mixed for the bluebird painting was used for the background here (mixed with a little bit more blue and red to darken). I don’t know why, but there is something about this shade of green that I really like. It looks so much more contemporary than the earthy colors I usually use, but I love it. I hope you like it too!

I absolutely love this one! There’s something about this color scheme that I find very pleasing. I liked it so much that I decided to make the next painting a companion to this.

The leftover gray and violet mixtures I had from the previous painting were mixed together and used for the background here. I really like the dull violet color it produced.

I was very happy to find this little tangerine from the grocery. I love it when the leaves are still attached. I think they add a lot of character.

Mel requested this painting of her favorite subjects that I have done before. I had to wait for the black plums to become available again, but it was worth the wait because I really enjoyed painting this. It’s currently my most favorite of all the “dailies”.

Making the background smooth was a challenge, but I really love how this turned out. I like how the plum is so low in the painting.

This is a painting of the tropical fruit star apple or caimito/cainito. I have not eaten one of these in a long while that I have actually forgotten what they taste like. They are delicious!

I’ve been wanting to do this composition for quite some time now, but I kept putting it off because I was intimidated by the glass dish. Well, these baby tangerines wouldn’t keep any longer so I had no choice but to do it. Surprisingly, this painting was fun and I didn’t come across any difficulties at all.
