Oil painting on hardboard
Approximately 6 x 6 inches — 15 x 15 cm
Private Collection

My fellow members at Daily Painter Originals, Kelley MacDonald and Susan Roden, are having a donut exchange over at their blogs (more popularly known as the “Donut War”). They have been throwing donuts (paintings, of course) of all brands, shapes and colors — sugar-coated, frosted, jelly-filled, chocolate. Current status of the Donut war is a truce so, I think, this is as good a time as any to show my neutral, plain glazed donut.

This is by far the most tempting food I’ve ever painted. It looked so delicious I almost didn’t want to finish painting it. The good thing about it is that it was easy to do and looked almost finished after the first hour or so. The bad thing about it is that I deprive the family of delicious food while I still paint them!
