Tangerine with Leaves

Tangerine with Leaves - Oil Painting

Daily Painting #258 – Tangerine with Leaves

Oil painting on gessoed matboard
Approximately 5 x 7.5 inches — 13 x 19 cm

The leftover gray and violet mixtures I had from the previous painting were mixed together and used for the background here. I really like the dull violet color it produced.

I was very happy to find this little tangerine from the grocery. I love it when the leaves are still attached. I think they add a lot of character.

I have a couple of these beautiful little tangerines, too! My problem is that I don’t want to eat them before I can paint them…. and I have so many paintings to work on right now! Just another starving artist, I guess 😉

Hi, Heather! Thanks for stopping by. I guess we have a lot in common — I too don’t want to eat my still life models until I paint them…and then I paint them again…and again! I save them until they get so ripe I have no choice but to eat them 😀

I love your butterfly paintings, by the way 🙂
