Oil on gessoed matboard
Approximately 5.5 x 5.5 inches — 14 x 14 cm

Finally completed the first month of daily paintings — 31 oil paintings in 31 days!!

Thanks so much to everyone who commented and gave inspiration! I’d especially like to thank my Mom and brother, David, for giving me ideas and subjects to paint, for washing my brushes at 1 in the morning, and, most of all, for encouraging me to start this project to begin with.

Overall, it has been a very rewarding project and I’m looking forward to painting and blogging next month’s daily paintings!

Faith –what a major accomplishment–you must feel great! Congrats and hats off to you—glad you’re on twitter–that’s where I caught your comment!

Thanks so much for your kind words, Ms. Perry! Yes, it does feel great to finish that many paintings in just a month. I know it’s not really a lot compared with what others are able to achieve, but I used to take weeks to finish just one artwork so, I guess, I’m really happy with it. Twitter is great fun, by the way — wish I could find other artsy things to tweet about though instead of just my daily painting updates!

I am trying to do a painting with eggs in a basket, I am having a hard time trying to figure out just how to paint them. I can’t quit figure out what colors and how to shade them.
