I’ve neglected my blog terribly for such a long, long time. There was just so much going on that, for a long time, the Blog just needed to move to the background. I have been painting and taking on portrait commissions though and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the kind folks who have supported and continue to support my work. I’m truly very grateful!
Here are five paintings that I have completed recently. They are all still available and, as before, shipping to the USA is free.

That’s it for now. Hope to post some more in the coming days, God willing. Take care! 🙂
Things have been a little more hectic than usual here as my family and I prepare to move (temporarily) to another home. Because of this, I will be without internet for a week or two and I will not be able to mail any paintings then. I hope to be back again by the first of November, God willing, when we have settled.
To all my artist friends and collectors, thank you so much for your support!!

It’s been a while since I last posted a painting. I hope you will bear with me as I try to get my posting habits back in order again.
As some of you know, my Dad suffered a stroke in February of last year. It crippled him badly and my priorities shifted as I take on the new role of caregiver along with my mother and brother. These past 2-3 months especially, we’ve been going around, well, like chickens with their heads cut off! Luckily, I have been able to squeeze in some productive painting time and I have several new works which I hope to show you in the coming weeks, God willing. I hope you’ll stay tuned for those!
Pearls from the Orient: Daily Paintings by Faith Te Available for purchase, please click here for details
A little while back, I compiled my first book on Blurb.com containing some of the small paintings from my “365 Daily Painting Project”. The paintings are grouped into four categories: Food and Drink, Things, Flowers and Outdoors. The book measures approximately 6.75″ square. It has 80 pages and includes a few full page close-ups of details as well.
I recently received my copy of the book and below are a few pictures of the inside pages. You may also view all the pages in the book here. I hope you like it — thank you so much for looking!
Peeled Grapefruit
Oil painting on hardboard
Approximately 7 x 5 inches — 18 x 13 cm SOLD
Here’s another painting of one of my most favorite subjects — peeled citrus fruits. I never get tired of painting them and this grapefruit especially was a lot of fun to do.
I spent several days visiting relatives in the countryside last week. I can’t wait to paint some landscapes from the pictures that I took there! Here are a few photos:
Photo: Farm Scene | Most of the tall grasses were brown and dried but the paddies were already planted full of rice!
Photo: The “Makahiya” or “Touch Me Not” Flower | A plant which closes its leaves when touched. It’s too bad I wasn’t able to see it firsthand as I only learned about this interesting trait when I returned home.
Photo: Shady Dirt Road | I love shady, tree-lined dirt roads…
Photo: Nesting Hen | I was so excited when I saw this hen sitting inside the basket. I wish I could have gotten closer to take a better photograph but I didn’t want to spook her!

Catching up on a few things that happened during the last three weeks…
A week or so ago, Judy Felker featured some of my work on her blog Creative Wonder. Stop by for a visit and check out the other artists she’s featured. I’ve “discovered” a number of new favorites myself.
Also about a week ago, Michel Oosterhout invited me to submit my Apple Half painting below to his An Apple a Day project. Check it out!
And about two weeks or so ago, I received in the mail this beautiful pencil drawing from one of the sweetest and kindest persons I know. Sherry is a fabulous artist and I hope you will take time to visit her blog. Lately, she has also begun posting photos of her drawings in progress so you can see how she creates her realistic, and often very intricate, drawings.

Here’s something a little different and slightly larger than my usual size. This painting of a pair of old boots and a butterfly was requested by a friend. The leather was the most fun to paint and the shoelaces were the most difficult! I really love how it turned out though. It took about 3 layers to complete but was definitely worth it.
Many thanks to jdurham for letting me use her photo as reference for this painting!
The winner of the painting giveaway is: Lisa Bryson!!

Edited January 1, 2012: Updated list of paintings to choose from.
Brown Egg on Wooden Box
Oil painting on hardboard
Approximately 6 x 6 inches — 15 x 15 cm SOLD
Here’s another brown egg painting. It has a similar “monochrome” color scheme as the last one. I had a very difficult time trying to get the colors on the screen to match the original. The shadow part of the egg is a little more magenta in reality. You will see more of these brown eggs in the future as I really enjoy painting them. I have a whole dozen tray of them bought specially for painting!
Also, I am pleased to announce that I am now a featured artist on Daily Paintworks! I was invited by David Marine (founder of the site and husband of fab daily painter Carol Marine) a couple of days ago and I’m really thrilled and honored to be part of this group! If you haven’t seen it yet, DailyPaintworks.com also has auctions that are exclusively for original art. Check it out — as far as I know, it’s the first of its kind!
Oil painting on hardboard
Approximately 6 x 6 inches — 15 x 15 cm SOLD
It’s quite frustrating coming back to painting after leaving it for so long. I felt really rusty and was unable to bring myself to finish those which I’ve started. To see if it will help, I returned to a favorite subject which I’ve painted many times before: the orange. It did. It was pure joy to do this one, and what’s more, I really love how it turned out!
Oil painting on hardboard
Approximately 6 x 6 inches — 15 x 15 cm SOLD
I’m back to posting new paintings again after a terribly long break. It was anything but a “vacation” though. My father had a major stroke last February. This left him bedridden and dependent on my Mom, brother and me for almost everything. We dropped everything we were doing as the hospital became our home for a while. I did plan on doing some pencil drawings there, but I couldn’t find the energy nor the interest to do anything. Unfortunately, this went on for a good while after we were back home again. It took some time for us to adjust to the new schedules, duties and lifestyle. I can’t say we’ve finally settled down, but I did manage to start painting again several weeks ago.
I have lots to catch up on, but it feels good to be back again.

I apologize for the glare in the image above. I had a very difficult time taking a photo of it and it’s still not dry enough to scan. I will replace it with a better one when it is available.

Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Faith Te and I am a painter from the Philippine Islands.

If you want to be notified each time a new painting is added to this blog, please enter your e-mail address above.
In addition, I also do realistic portraits using graphite and charcoal pencils. You may view my pencil drawings on my web site, Artistic Realism.
