  • Above fees are for single-subject, graphite pencil or charcoal portraits with simple backgrounds.
  • An additional 75% will be added for each and every additional subject.
  • Fees may vary depending on the complexity of the drawing.
  • Additional fees apply if complex backgrounds are desired (e.g. landscapes or interiors).
  • Above listed are the basic sizes. If you wish to have a specific size which does not appear on the list, please feel free to e-mail us for a quote.
  • Sizes listed above indicate actual drawing areas.
  • We also draw other subjects. If you wish to commission drawings other than that of people or pets, please e-mail us for a quote.
  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost is due before any work starts on the commission.
  • Fees are for unmatted and unframed portraits.
  • Fees do not include shipping and handling costs.

Quality Original Artwork on Superior Arches® Paper

Since March 01, 2009, we have exclusively used Arches® paper for all commissioned charcoal and graphite pencil drawings. Arches® paper is acid-free and 100% cotton. Stable and resistant against discoloration and tearing over time.

1. Procedure

Send us an e-mail with your inquiries and photographs together with specifications of your preferences.

After the details and price have been discussed and agreed upon, we will immediately present you with a rough sketch to show how the portrait's composition will look like. Upon your approval, we require a 50% deposit before any work begins on the portrait.

To ensure that the portrait is up to your expectations, at least 2 progress updates will be presented by e-mail or on a private page on www.ArtisticRealism.com. Upon completion, the work will likewise be presented for your final approval prior to shipment. When you are completely satisfied with the portrait, the remaining 50% will be paid.

If you wish to receive your portrait at a specific time, please place your order well in advance. Completion of work depends on the size of the portrait, complexity, and the artist's workload at the time. We usually ask for at least 7 days to complete a single-subject portrait of the smallest size (7" × 9" - 18 × 23 cm). Rush orders may sometimes be accommodated, but they will be an additional 50% per portrait. Please contact us for inquiries.


2. Choosing Your Photographs

Most pictures can be worked from. However, submission of a clear and detailed photograph will produce better results. Please e-mail us the highest resolution available.

If commissioning for a multi-subject portrait, we are also able to work from separate photographs of the subjects and compose them into one portrait.

You may send us your photographs by e-mail or through the image file box of our e-mail form.


3. Modes of Payment and Shipment

Payment may be made through PayPal using your credit card or PayPal balance. You may also send payment by registered airmail in the form of bank draft, cashier's check or money order. Please note that portraits will only be shipped after cleared funds are confirmed.

Your portrait will be shipped flat (not in tubes) by airmail, International Express Mail Service (IEMS) or courier, depending on your choice. Shipping and handling charges will be quoted accordingly.
