My sister, Faith, and I live here in the Philippines so there is no snow. She'll be relieved to know, however, that her snow painting looks believable ;) . I think the steel coffee pot really works. I also wanted to comment on your Christmas scene pastel painting. You've never seen snow in real life?! I live in the mountains of Utah where our house is currently half buried in 3 feet of snow and let me just say you did a wonderful job on the snow in that painting. It looks so real!
