I haven’t been able to concentrate on this lately, so just a little update today. Rendered the handles of the cap and pot. Also, I finished the tablecloth and started the folds. Here’s a correction on my previous post — the pot was mostly done using a brush with graphite powder.

I’ve recently started a small drawing using charcoal pencil. It took me quite a while to decide what subject to draw — I wanted to do something quick and simple.
I remembered the chili peppers that we harvested from our homegrown chili plant several weeks ago. I’ve been meaning to draw those peppers and I do have quite a number of compositions that I would like to do. I might consider doing a series of drawings with them as subjects, but for now, here’s one to start it off:

Title: Hot Bunch – Stage 1
Medium: Charcoal Pencil
Paper: Canson Grain
Size: 15.2 × 25.4 cm (6″ × 10″)
The Portrait of Ron is finished, by the way. I will have it up here and on the website soon. Thank you for looking!

Just a little update today. Using the 2B mechanical pencil, I worked on the steel cap of the coffee pot. The tablecloth was done using a brush dipped in graphite powder.

I did the steel coffee pot using a brush dipped in graphite pencil powder and a 0.5 mm 2B mechanical pencil. I originally intended to do a glass coffee pot but I was not able to think of a suitable design for the cap, so I just turned it into a steel one.

Now I established the shadows here using 0.5 mm 2B mechanical pencil. I finished the last cookie and drew the “coffee” in the second cup.

Here’s one final update before I post the finished portrait. I wanted to try something different instead of the plain green background, so I modified it for a blurry landscape effect.

In this stage, the second cup and the plate of cookies are almost finished. I used 0.5 mm 2B mechanical pencil for the coffee and cookies.
